WOOHOO! After 6 months of perfect payment history with CapOne, I got a big $100.00 credit limit increase! <sarcasm> I called about an increase on my Gold (What a joke)account, and C.S. told me that Oct. 7 would be my 1 year anniversary and that they only give automatic increases after one year. I guess I will wait a week to see if I get that automatic increase and then write a letter to Planetfeedback again. I can't wait until I get another Citi card so that I cancel all of that subprime crap including CapOne and Orchard. Orchard offered me a $100.00 increase for a $10.00 fee after 6 months of perfect history. I sent a letter to PF today. Subprime sucks bad.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!! $100... ...BUT THAT IS $100 MORE THAN DISCOVERCARD WANTS TO GIVE ME... NO CREDIT REPORT...NO INCREASE... It is only going to cost them $50,000 (YEAR ENDING 07/27/2002) !!!
Based on the experiences of many on this board, I didn't even bother going through regular CS. Just fired up a PFB letter, and spoke to Mr. Cooke the very next day. He was able to improve all my terms (anual fee waived, apr, credit limit). Just make a list of what you want and send a PFB. Don't waste your time on people who don't have the power or inclination to help u. -Roman
Yeah, I did that 6 months ago and got $300.00 on each account and an APR reduction on each. I guess I will have to write Mr. Miller again. Thanks.
If you already spoke to him once, I don't think you need PFB anymore. You can just call him up. Cap 1 Executive Offices : 1-800-955-1455 -Roman
Exactly. I wrote an email directly to Mr. Miller 5 months after my initial PFB letter. Mr. Cooke called me back the next day and gave me my 2nd increase in 5 months. Didn't have to go thru PFB this time.
I never wrote Cap 1 via Planet Feedback. A couple of months ago, I just called Mr. Miller out of the blue, and he lowered my APR and raised my LOC.
I don't know what rhyme or reason Cap 1 uses for increases. My husband has had a Gold MC through them for almost four months and they gave him an automatic $500 increase without asking for it last month. My husband and I are definitely sub-prime due to BK last year. So it's not like he's prime and that explains the auto line increase. It was very much a surprise. We both have separate accounts with FCNB. FCNB increased my credit limit a whopping $100 after six months automatically, but never did a thing with my husband's. Go figure. LKH and Roman are right. Once you have your foot in the door with either Mr. Miller or Mr. Cooke, you can just call them up. You should be alright as long as you don't abuse the priviledge. What do you have to lose, go for it and give them a call.
