Does anyone else have a problem with Capital One pulling a hard one every single month? I have no less than five inquiries on there from Capital One and there were several that were deleted when Credit Expert allowed online disputes. Do you think PFB would work for this? I understand they like to do account reviews, but if it were coded as that, it wouldn't hurt my score...right? L
They CAN'T pull a "HARD" unless you are APPLYING for a NEW CREDIT CARD...any other thing like a request for a limit increase should be a "SOFT"...and PRM/AM/AR'S are all "SOFT"
What do you mean "CAN'T"? They did...lol. Unless I have applied for credit every month for the past nine months. Five are remaining as I mentioned. I just pfb'd so hopefully this will get fixed. It seems to only be on Experian. L
PFB them and ask when you are going to get the cards that they pulled credit reports for...list the dates... 5 "HARD" INQUIRES = 5 NEW ACCOUNTS...
so why are CA's that buy an account for your debt appear on your report as hard inquires? I didn't give them permission to look at my report and I sure did not apply for credit with them.
DISPUTE THEM..."I did NOT apply for a credit card or loan with this company...PLEASE DELETE INQUIRES"
You didn't give permission? Actually, you most likely did give permission when you signed the agreement for your acct. Regardless of that, and I completely agree with you, but, a collection agency pulling a hard inquiry for purposes of locating a debtor is a permissable purpose, whether we ok'd it or not.
I had a similar problem with Cap One. They pulled several hard inq's on my report (but not every month like you) in the space of a year. I called them, and they deleted the inq's after I pointed out that if they wish to review my report, they can do account reviews (AR inq's) as much as they want.
I have not had a problem like yours, thank goodness. But as I mentioned on another post here, Cap 1 did a hard inquiry on all 3 credit reports when I applied for a card. I couldn't believe it. At least they gave me a card. You did the correct thing writing to them. Let us know what happens.
