I accidently posted this in the general lounge. Hopefully a mod could delete the one in the general lounge forum.

I have 2 capital one credit cards with $300 limits. I have recently recieved multiple mailings saying I have been approved for a "Prefered Platinum Plus" card, in addition to my 2 other cards. I have called and asked if they could increase the limits on my current "Platinum" cards, but was denied. Should I apply for this new card and cancel my other 2 if I am approved? I hardly use my current Capital one cards because of the low limits.

Close the cards and run away. Far away. I'm sure it's been said here before and I should've heeded those warnings that Capital One dings your score by NOT reporting credit limits and even $1.00 owed will knock your score down. (Mine was knocked 34 points by having their $39 annual fee show up on my CR). I've decided to abuse the 0% APR and then kick 'em to the curb.
