Iâ??m offering some advice to a friend about his credit reportâ?¦ he has a cap one listing that he went delinquent on and eventually settled for less than the balance. Itâ??s listed as settled on his reports. It is scheduled to fall off in one yearâ?¦ what are the odds of them verifying if I dispute it? Anyone have any experience with something similar?
Cap One, I used to say you would have 100% chance of verifying it. But recently, I got a similar situation Cap One deleted from Hubster's report. I was bored and disputed it again for giggles. Who knows if I got lucky or if maybe its the beginning of a difference since they have gone national.
Cap1 has reduced its workforce significantly in the last year. Many of the employees were from these functions. In short, try the dispute, they may not have the manpower to verify.
