Not true. See below. They'll re-open your account in a heartbeat! I had a Cap 1 account that I closed in July of '03 and they re-opened it 2 MONTHS later in September...all because a charge from Columbia House went through. I received some letter for a DVD movie and I didn't decline it in time and my Cap 1 card was on file with them. They charged me the card and sent me the movie and Cap 1 re-opened my acct. I left it open for a couple of months and then canceled again in January. Good riddance!
