I was reading some posts and everyone suggests Capital One for rebuilding credit. I had a chargeoff in 1997 from Capital One. Would I be opening a can of worms by trying to get a card from them?

    Thanks for the input!

I have a charge off with them from 2000. But as my credit scores have started to improve, I have received two pre-approved applications for a Plantium MasterCard and Visa in the last month.

They pulled an inquiry on my Experian, my best report.

Did you receive either of the cards?

If it's an unpaid charge-off, do not apply.

If it's a paid charge-off, you have nothing to worry about.

Got the Plantium MasterCard, but I am waiting to activate it. Trying to buy a house, so I don't want to open any new accounts right now.

They may report it even if it isn't activated yet.

STATE FARM reported like a few days after approved...(TRANS UNION) I think...

WAY BEFORE I GOT THE CARD!!!

Just because its not activated doesnt mean its not open. If the acct was established with an acct #, and a card was issued, its open. It will report as open on your cbr.

I work for a cc company, and this is a huge misconception with a lot of people.
