Hello! My family needs a good miles card, that gives us good miles for the buck. Mostly, the miles will be redeemed for flights to Europe (we are from there), so we need a good miles card. So far from my research, CapitalOne miles is the best one (lowest annual fee, best miles etc. low APR). Both of my parents have stellar credit (my dad is 740+ and my mom is like 720+) so we will probably get approved for almost anything. Is CapitalOne really the best miles card out there? Thanks in advance

Someone please help! Out of the first 20+ posts, my two are the only ones without a response!

I looked at older threads about Capital1 and it seemed to me that they used to be bad, but are now trying to get better customers. Is that so? Are they turning around?

I HATE Capital one..........I'll never ever do business with them again, they completely screwed me and I was NEVER late and carried a small balance........so I for that reason DO NOT recommend them....

Have you looked at United Miles card? They have alot of overseas partners (europe) like lufthansa, SAS etc....

Don't take not getting replies personally, I reply alot more than shows up on here, it gets timed out so I leave...don't know why the board is sooooooooo slow!!!!

You may get approved (I was) but there's a twist.

The miles are $1 = 1 mile, BUT you need 3000 miles for ANY ticket (Europe will be about 20,000 miles), and the miles expire after 3 years. They will give you a $300 credit limit.

Do the math - if you charge it to the limit every month, you cannot accumulate enough miles to buy a single ticket before they start expiring.

When I figured that out I sent the card back - never used it, never even validated it.

A few have had success but most are toy limits and it will cost you a hard pull at all 3 CRA's

I have two of these on my desk right now, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Agreed. The math does not add up. Even if approved, your starting limit is likely to be around 300-500 dollars and you cannot get enough charge volume to get going. I suggest you look at United or American Airlines reward cards.............You'll be much better off.
