Got them to remove a tradeline on my report that was not mine. I had disputed it since last year, and it kept coming back verified. I used PFB and it was taken care of in about 2 weeks.

    Congrats Creditman!

Sent Cap1 a goodwill ltr to remove two 30-day lates from my sec. MC.

Just got a Platinum MC last month with a $500 limit. PFB'ed Mr. Cooke & got a call back message, "I have resolved your request. Please call me if I can be of further asssitance". Then two days later, my C/L increased by my requested amount [$1,500 - didn't want to be too greedy].

    Thanks Cap1!

    Hey EF,

I have a old charge-off for $994.00 on 03/98. Should I call, write, fax a goodwill letter to Mr. Cooke for 50 % settlement and deletion tradeline? If so, do you have an address or phone/fax to Mr. Cooke at Cap 1?

Battling them one at a time ....

From what I've read of other posters, PFB is the best way to get Mr. Cooke directly.

He calls back usually within 1 business day & he calls prepared (he has your history file with him).

    Hermit5,
Yes, I have balances on my secured & Gold Cap1 accounts (less than 40% of the C/L). I've learned my lesson about late pays and pay more than the minimum. I've only charged a couple of items on the Platinum but will keep that card with a zero balance. My plan is to request another increase (maybe do a B/T) in 6 months.

Now if I can only get those student loan derogs off!

Any progess, I have disputed and only gotten deletion when they do not respond. As for the rest they always respond. As for Sallie Mae I got them to go from an R9 to R5, little improvement. And this loan is one they sold and they still have info on it. I called to check it out and they still could pull it up. My God

hasanyone ever done a settlement with Cap1 for less than the amount owed and had the tradeline reported as positive or the account reopened?

    Just curious....
