Does anyone know of any company to get car insurance from that does NOT base it on your credit report? I've recently been declined by State Farm, and I dont want a ton of inquiries while I shop around if Im just going to be declined. Jamee
Erie Insurance is your answer. No CR pulled and some of the best rates around. Check them out, you can get a quite w/o the CR pull. Hope this helps.
BTW, I am in Florida.... I havent heard of Erie, I havent tried Allied, but I will look into those! Any others? Jamee
Geico will give you a quote and a policy, without pulling credit. Get it over the phone, not online, and when they ask for you SSN, tell them you do not want credit pulled. Don't say why, just say you don't want it.
based on Breeze's advice about a company that was willing to give a quote without pulling a CR, I went with Geico, and it worked out. I was getting royally taken advantage of by Farmers Insurance. The Bk was filed in '96, but they didn't raise my rates until they started pulling CR's in '2000. I did just what Breeze said, said I did not want them to pull , and they DID NOT pull a credit report. they did pull a Driver's license report from State, and verified in some other database that insurers use that what I told them about other HHdrivers and previous accidents, or lack of, was correct. Have been with them three months now. Love being able to pay online, and getting hold of someone 24 X 7 if I need them. Thank you again, Breeze.
That's great to hear. BTW, there is now a Gecko bobblehead available for the rear window of your car, hehe.
