I have a car loan with Hyundai Financial (never ever get one). I am 10 days past due today and called to let them know my situation (lost child support income) and to make payments on 7/26 and 8/9 to bring current. They threatened to repo my car before 7/24 (the 30 day late day) and these payments were unacceptable and to go borrow the money from a friend. Can they do this??
I never understood why companies treat their customers so shabby. Makes no sense. If I had a customer calling to make a payment plan I would be tickled to death (at least I was going to get paid). Did you speak with a supervisor or one of those $7/hr reps? I would contact a supervisor, apologize profusely, and then explain the situation. Get the individual's name and extension. Thirty days late for a car loan is nothing. They usually add on late fees, but that's it. Most don't start getting antsy until it hits 60-90 days past due. Seriously, I would try contacting them again. If they get bitchy write a letter to the executive offices. You're making a good faith effort to pay the bill and your payment plan is reasonable. If you make this payment, would you be past due on the next payment and so forth? Or were you going to make last month's and this month's payment? Good luck. Dani
I have no idea...I only started this credit thing 3 weeks ago and I bought my car last October. I currently have middle 500's now So good to now start being educated I however never ever ever ever recomend Hyundai Financing. I love my car and actually had requested (preapproved by ford) and somehow I got this nightmare.
I have found the number to the assistant to the president of Hyundai Finance and left a message. I have heard nothing yet?? Is there any violation to collecting a debt when they threaten to repo your car if I am only 10 days late??
I asked for that and she laughed at me and stated only if I were in the hospital or someone in my family died. She went further to explain that I should have known this was going to happen and I should have budgeted better...
Call the child support people (IF THEY WILL HELP) and tell them that you car will be repoed because you can't afford to pay with-out the child support...the loan company is PLAYING HARD-BALL!!! See what happens...I KNOW THEY CAN ADD ON THE BACK-END...THIS SHOULD QUALIFY...
I have already been working with the child support people and I can only talk to them of Tues and Thurs (already scheduled a time to call tomorrow) and as far as adding to the back end, she never denied that they couldnt do it, she just refuses to do it (supervisor) because I should have known better and I shouldnt take it personally.
I never understood why companies treat their customers so shabby. Dani ----------------------------------------------------- It's because they feel consumers owe them their business and their something for nothing attitude,
Maybe so, but I have ran businesses for years and have never gotten irate with a customer (okay, I have gotten irate with one customer). The customers are our companies livelihood. No customers=no money=no paycheck. I have had customers get behind on bills and I have worked out payment plans with them. I appreciate it when the customer calls to explain why their late and to make an effort to pay. I understand people hit hard times. And being sassy or a smart ass isn't going to get us paid any faster (if at all). Dani
1*True but far to many are not like that especially in big business and corporate America. 2*Surprising how many of them seem to forget this fact isn't it? 3*Some haven't learned this have they?
