I'm a college student who is taking a semester off to backpack through out europe. Can anyone suggest a good credit card to get for my trip? I don't have much of a credit history. I don't even really know what to look for in a card. Any advice would be so helpful!

    Sarah,

It's been a long time since I was in college so I probably won't be able to help much. However, I can direct you to a web site, www.studentcredit.com which does offer some card choices. There's lots of info there and I think you may find it helpful.

Have a wonderful time in Europe. Your trip sounds great.

American Express is good for travelling, and they have both a student charge card and a student credit card.

You might want to check for each country you will be travelling in as to what cards they take in that country. Some take Visa. Others mastercard. They aren't "one" like in the US.
