Does anyone know anything about credit available though Carrier the air conditioner supplier?
I need to replace my A/C and they seem to have a promotion going on for 6 months no interest or payments.
I would like to do this, but since I am also in the process of cleaning up my credit report, I don't want to get a hard inquiry if i can't get the credit.
    Thanks..

I especially would like to know if anyone knows the finance company behind, this, I doubt they do it themselves.

Ok, now that I know it is Citifinancial, it appears from looking over past posts, that Citifinancial shouldn't be too hard to qualify for , but might hurt my scores.
Would this negative FICO apply to the Citifinancial retail cards that are branded? (carrier in this example)

I would really like to take advantage of the 6 months no payments/interest, because this would allow me to pay down my credit cards quickly so that my balances to credit limit would be lowered and this should increase my scores.

The name of a bank or who is reporting doesn't effect your score, unless it might be reporting as secured.

I have used Citifinancial in the past for when buying home furniture, they've given me 6 months same as cash and always report to the CRA's during the 6 months as..."Paid as agreed", when the 6 months comes I pay it off. The intrest is high at 22,9%, this would really be the only reason you'd want to use Citi.

Alot of retail stores that have these promotions of no payments/intrest for a set time use Citifinancial. They are ok as long as you pay them off when they are due.

They don't hurt your score at all.

The posts that I read about citifinancial indicated it was a negative on there FICO score because it was a 'finance company'.
And I wanted to find out if the branded retail card would also show this negative FICO.

I'm going to take a little detour here. I hope you don't mind, paudemge.

You need the a/c. Screw whether the 6 months financing shows up as "finance company." Sometimes it's just worth living your life without bowing to the FICO gods. I submit that this is one of those times, especially considering that the effect on your "big picture" will not be earth shattering - if there's any effect at all.

You are right I am getting the A/C no matter what, I don't need the financing, but I really like the idea of using someone elses money for 6 months.
But I am also trying to get my FICO above 700 and I don't want to hurt my chances by getting financing through a bad company.
I don't think that the branded Citifinancial Retail Card will show up as a finance company, and lower my score, but I just want as much input as possible.

I guess no one else has any input on citifinancial branded retail cards?
