Carrot/Kate Former GTE now ve

    Not sure if you had GTE phone service which switched to Verizon in VA, but if you did you should be getting a check from them, watch your mail. Apparently when they took over GTE they were NOT supposed to change rates until a certain time, they did it earlier and the state of VA went after them and all customers are receiving a check, mine was for 252.00!!!

    What a nice surprise! Mom. I would love to get an unexpected check in the mail. What I would do is bank it. We're saving to buy a house and you know how it is - Every penny counts.

    I have Sprint/Centel. No check for me. Oh well...

    Nope, I had Bell Atlantic. GTE only serviced around 2 percent of Hampton Roads.
