In my attempts to help my bud get her first house, we sent a nutcase letter to Carsons for a paid in full charge off of $644.00. Today in the mail, she gets this huge honkin envelope. Not only did she get copies of the original contracts. She had copies of every single statement sent to her. Highlighted by hand on those statements were every single time she was late. (Someone took lots of time at this.) Get this.....a copy of EVERY single check she sent to them as payment. I had no clue creditors make copies of your checks. Do we even have a chance? What would your next step be? She has about 8 charge offs. This Carsons is small in regard to the dollar amount of others. Let it go? Estoppel? These accounts were paid in full May 2002. Maybe it is just too new. I feel bad for her. I told her of my success by simply disputing as not mine. Every single derog came off within 2 months. HELP!
Carsons seems to be absolutely anal about recordkeeping. This goes way beyond enything I've ever seen or even heard of.
