I'm sure many know this but some of the newbies might not. I've had success with two CA's in agreeing to pay the amount owed in exchange for deletion. Prior to paying, I ask them to fax me a letter stating they will mark the account as paid in full AND DELETE the account from the three CRA's (or whatever ones they report to). I then paid the account and requested they fax me the receipt. Done deal.
