CA's are pigs..actually that's an insult to pigs. I've been getting calls showing up on my caller id with "WolpoffAbramso" as the caller. When I called the office, I got a recoreded message "Please wait for the next available assistant" when someone finally answered they answered "Law Office" which is something a legit Law office would never do. They told me it was the lawyers Wolpoff and Abrams, which are listed no-where in Verizon's Yellow pages. Turns out they are in Rockville MD where National Financial is,( but no lawyers by that name)..a collection agency I think I read is getting taken to court. Anyone heard of these people? Here's another. umb bank collections sent me correspondence by Post card, and when I called they never identified themselves as collectors. Today I get a letter and a video on how they can "help me" (clean my pockets of what little is left) THESE PEOPLE ARE PIGS..THESE PEOPLE SUCK!!!
http://www.debtmarketplace.com/ea-mgmt.html Wolpoff and Abramson, L.L.P. is a law firm that specializes in national debt collections. We have been in practice for over 35 years. W&A is a leading provider of legal debt collection services in our community. We have quickly become a national competitive force. Our leading edge technology, highly trained collection force and 35 years of experience provide us with an exceptional edge over our competitors. Our clients include some of the largest national retailers and banks.
These people are listed as the client on an account that a local attorney collector has and is trying to collect. Why is it that W&A has the account and need to assign it out to someone else? Unless the people who have it now are affiliates. Of course, in the letter I was sent, W&A weren't even listed....some other company was listed as being the ones represented. Sounds a bit "off" to me.
Not sure. But I don't think CA's have to be licensed or bonded in my state. But maybe they don't know that.
If Wolpoff and Abrams are so legit, why are they not listed anywhere under lawyers? The way they answered the phone was unprofessional, and their phone number doesn't come up on searches..I also don't appreciate them calling the house without at least leaving a message as to who they want to talk to. Just my opinion
Greg posted in another thread about the Telephone Consumers Protection Act which prohibits the use of those automated calling machinges for solicitors. I don't know if it would pertain to collectors or not, but it might be worth checking into. Go here: http://junkbusters.org/ .
