I realise a CA can pull your CR without your authorization for purposes of locating you to collect the debt..

In looking through my credit reports. I have found a number of CA's that have no corresponding tradeline.
What would be permissable purpose be here??
This isnt CA I have had removed but in a least 2 or 3 its ones that I have never heard of ever..

Just because you don't see a thing from them, does not mean that they didn't 'touch' an account of yours.

Some accounts can go through a NUMBER of CA's before the first CA contacts you regarding the account.

CA #1 buys account from OC. Looks over the account and the 'documentation', pulls a report and says hey, we'll only be out 1% if we sell the account to CA #2.

CA #2 buys the account from CA #1, and guess what they do...

CA #3 isn't smart enough to figure out why there have been 2 CA's before it which have quickly resold the account, and maybe they don't even bother pulling a credit file, and contacts you...

Think of it this way, the more people it passed through, the more likely there really isn't anything to back up the company's claims of a debt, or they actually realized that you don't have the $ and want to cut their losses before they lose any more than they have to.

Some CA's buy accounts as a case lot (auction people will know what I mean -- Think of it as a file full of 20,000 accounts, sold as one unit.) The CA may then go through and pull a credit file on these 20,000 accounts, calculate their odds on getting paid for them, and then put the ones that they view as long shots in another case lot for the next company.
