Caught Equifax in a lie ... BIGTIME

I disputed two (2) American General Finance accounts w/EQ. Reasons for disputes were "do not recall owing" and "duplicate accounts". EQ responded that both accounts were mine and that the accounts were not duplicates. Yes, this was verified, despite both accounts having the same account number.

Following this investigation report by EQ, I contacted the creditor who verified that only one account should be listed on my report. The creditor forwarded an updated UDF advising CRAs that there should only be one account listed.

Last week received investigative report from EQ indicating one of the (AGF) accounts was a duplicate and was therefore deleted from my credit profile. This is a direct reversal of their initial investigation.

How should I approach EQ in a letter demanding deletion of the tradeline in its entirety. My thoughts were to inform EQ that they were negligent and irresponsible in accurately reporting this tradeline and in their investigation of this tradeline and request immediate deletion. I also intend forwarding both reports indicating that they lied in their investigation.

Any thoughts on what else I should indicate in this letter? Should I threaten a lawsuit if they do not delete this tradeline?

Any help on this is always appreciated.
