Disputed a account that was paid off in 1998 on time but is listed as currently 30 days past due on tu. It came back verified according to tu. The loan company this was with is out of business except for one office in another state,so I called them and was told that they do all the verification so she asked me for my info I gave it to her including account#. She said Im not anywhere in there system any longer and that no Transunion never send her any dispute papers. If they did they would have told them they couldnt verify it. So I got them in a lie.

Now if you can get the OC to put that in writing for you....

DixieDrifter has a CYA Manipulation letter posted somewhere that covers this...I would search for it.

I'm in the same boat but with Experian. Mine is a auto loan that should of had a 0 balance. Experian said they investigated it and it 'Remains'. Would it be better to send them a letter asking for $1000 check or just go straight to the courthouse?

Thank you so much! This is AWESOME!
