I got a letter from a law office re Dillards acct. that was placed with them. It's just passed 150 days. Is it worse when it goes to an attorney's office as opposed to a CA?

What's the name of the attorney's office? What kind of letter did they send you?

An attorney is subject to the same laws as a CA, so they really aren't different. I deal with them the same way.

Please provide just a little more information and the board will be able to help you better. :0)

Just stating that Dillards placed the acct. with them and has declared the entire balance due and payable and to send money to law office. Then the 30 day paragraph about if I dispute they will mail verification etc. Mini miranda at the bottom. I have to check the name later as the letter is in my car and not here right now. I searched here when I got it & the name didn't come up. I'll post that later.

It means they are trying to collect. It may be an attorney or it may still be a CA. I would attack it with the validation sequence if you haven'r done that yet.

Attorneys that collect are basically CA's making extra money on the side. They just try to intimidate you by using a lawyer.

    Don't fall for it. Validate.
