ALRIGHT! ONE DOWN! TWO TO GO!!

I bet this feels good! Congrats!

Let us know how Experian and Equifax turn out...

P.S. Hope your Mom is doing fine, is there any harassment activity happening to her in all this?

Glad to hear Mom is doing fine. Hope your battle continues as well as it did with TU.

But looking ahead, (after final results w/Experian & Equifax for you), you should start thinking about your Mom, and have HER send a Debt Validation letter to the CA/OC. I assume you've heard nothing back yet re: Validation(??). So, that may be a good sign for your mother!

One step at a time, but let's look at where we step next...

Yeah bizwiz,I have'nt heard anything on the validation yet.I had the same thought on my mom,if they can't validate to me they can't validate to anyone.I'm just sitting back and waiting for now.

Received this letter from EXP. today.

"As a part of our fraud-prevention program we evaluated the address used to create your personal credit report. To assist you,we must verify your current mailing address. Please send two items that verify your mailing address(for example,a copy of your driver's license, utility bill, bank or insurance statement,etc.).Please include the following information: a copy of this letter, your full name including middle initial, social security number,D.O.B,and previous addresses for the past five years."

Is this a legitimate letter,or are they up to something.I don't mean to sound paranoid, but after reading some of the post's on this board,I don't trust CA's or CRA's.

    Thank's JCR

It's legitimate, but it's a delay tactic. Send it to them.

I'm going through the exact same thing with them. Every time I send them anything, they send the request for id verification. From now on, a copy goes with everything I send the first time.

I'M SORRY---YOUR REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL ID IN ADDITION TO THE INFORMATION I HAVE ALREADY GIVEN IS FRIVOLOUS

    Re: Re: Re: charge-off,not mine

I agree with you, George, but they won't do a damn thing without it.

I noticed on my new EFX report I just received yesterday, they are now asking for that same ID info if you want to send in a investigation request.

I finally figured it was easier to keep a stack of the copies and send them a new copy with every request so they can't delay investigation while they wait for me to send "more info".

PS I've gotten that same letter 3 times since my first dispute in May of this year.

Making a stack of copie's with all of the info on it sound's like a good idea rhondak, just give them what they ask for so they have no more excuses for not investigating.

    Re: Re: Re: charge-off,not mine

That's my plan. Making copies tomorrow.

I have two "we need ID info" letters on my desk right now. One is for trying to get them to delete the 26 addresses they have listed and one is for tradeline disputes.

Believe it or not, I've actually had Experian delete 7 derogs over the last 3 months. Most were out of business companies that I'm sure they felt since they weren't customers anymore, it didn't matter.

When I first started doing this, I bought one of those 3 in 1 reports and printed every page out. Each time I get a removal, I mark it off on that "benchmark" report.

I did find out though, that there were things on that 3 in 1 report that weren't actually on the credit report at all. I got one letter listing like 4 items that they didn't even have to dispute!

Since then, though, I get a new copy of the actual reports every time they take something off.

I do love going through that original 3 in 1 report once in a while, looking at all those pretty red X's. :)

    Re: Re: Re: charge-off,not mine

I did pretty much the same thing rhondak, with the 3 in 1 report.I disputed online with TU,and they deleted.I tried to dispute online with EXP and EQ and for some reason neither of the website's would accept. So now it sound's like I am going through the same BS as you through the mail.

    Thank's JCR

    Re: Re: Re: charge-off,not mine

Yeah, I've been pretty much locked out of disputing online with Equifax and Experian. TU still takes them once in a while, but most of the time I get that message "we've already verified this message" so I've pretty much determined everything else will be through the mail. (CRRR of course)

I just got a new TU today (one deletion) so I'm going to see if I can dispute online at their site again with one of the remaining accounts.

I guess I am lucky in the fact that I only have one derog. that I am trying to fix,and TU has already deleted,so one down and two to go.Good luck in your effort's.

    Re: Re: Re: charge-off,not mine

No JCR, it is legitimate, and I have gotten the same letter from Experian myself. In fact I called Exp the first time and the CSR herself was realyy puzzled over why I received the letter!

So, I ran off copies of my license and SS card, and enclose a copy with every correspondence, (to all 3 now!).

As (perhaps) as positive note, when I received my first letter, it was right after that I got my first deletion!
