Helo, can anyone help me? About 8 months ago we had some family problems and got ourself into trouble. We had about $130,000 in cc debt that was averaging between 2.9%-3.9% fixed rate untill paid. When our problem arose the interest rate increased and we could no longer make our payments. I contacted what I thought was a cc negotiating company for help. It turned out to be a law office that told me my best solution was bankrupcy. We were sweet talked and went forward with it. It has turned out to be a hugh mistake. Due to the new laws we were pushed into a ch 13 and I simply cannot have my wages attached. We are in the process of withdrawing from the br and want to negotiate a settlement. The debt is primarily divided by 2 cc companies. Is it feasible to expect negotiations between 30-40%? If we cannot negotiate I am sure we will be sued. Can they attach wages and foreclose on our home? Anyone who can offer me advice I appreciate it.
