CC sold to CA

    Hi I'm a newbie, here's my problem:
    I was signed up with CCCS from 5/2002 to 5/2003. My payments were never late or defaulted, but in 3/2003 one of my CC's sold my account to Asset Acceptance. The CC never notified me, the CA didn't inform me or send me the 30-day notice letter. No one informed CCCS about this sale either.

    I only found out about this collections account this month because I got my credit reports and decided to clean them up and saw a tradeline for Asset Acc.

    Can a credit card sell the account to collections while I am supposedly in good standing (payments made as agreed for over 10 months)???

    When I called the CC to get info as to WHY they sold my account they said that I had to speak with Asset Acceptance from now on about it because they bought the account!! Don't I have the right to know why my account went to collections?
    They forward me immed to the CA, and they say they can't send me that 30-day notification letter, or that I didn't get any notification at all because I am in Colorado and its a No-Call state. That's not right is it???

    I've sent validation letter to Asset Acceptance, awaiting green card and response.

    What else can I do? I so want to nail someone to the wall for this!!

    Well, anybody can sell anything they own. Where did your money go? I don't know about the no-call thing, but they most certainly could have sent you the 30 day notification.
