Hey ladies and gents. How would a creditor know if you were in a CCCS by looking at your credit reports? Do CCCS's report to the CRA's? I withdrew from a CCCS a couple of years ago and I don't see anything remotely resembling a CCCS entry. I was talking with a co-worker who's mortgage app. was denied because, as his broker put it, "CCCS looks like a bankruptcy to lenders". Any thoughts? Smitty 24 hours in a day. 24 beers in a case? See a connection here?
DOESN'T "look" like a BK~~~it's CCCS!!! CCCS is REALLY, REALLY BAD!!!! BK is just BAD... Credit reports that you get may or may not be "EXACTLY" the same...
Have all information of CCCS removed from your report AT ALL COST!!! Many people have been DENIED 100% securred credit 2 years post CCCS...
I have to agree with George this is NOT a GOOD thing............................................................ THIS IS BAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sears will notate your report with CCCS - and it's a pain in the butt to get removed (at least from Sears). Ozzy.
I was told some time ago that if you go into CCCS just to get info, not even signing up, they pull your credit and the #7 is placed on your report (have no idea where). That #7 indicates that you are seeking debt counseling.
Some creditors will make a notation on your credit report that you're going through CCCS. I went through a service for 2 years. As I paid off each account, I sent them a letter stating "You are reporting inaccurate information. The notation says I'm currently participating in CCCS. My balance is zero, therefore, I can't possibly be using CCCS. Please remove". Done. No problem. Every last notation has been removed. Its possible but you have to use that play on words. The notation says "Participating"....that would mean, currently. If your account is closed with a zero balance, that's INACCURATE information.
It is easier to get a car loan with a recent bankruptcy then a CCCS notation. CCCS notation is attached to 90% of the accounts that are in the debt plan on your reports. The reason it is the kiss of death (CCCS) is you still have the BK option. If you already BKed you are not eligible for ten years (chapter 7). Banks won't touch you unless you provide a heavy down.
I spoke to three CCCS places a couple months ago -- sent them all my account info, etc but didn't sign up with any of them. There's no notation of my having spoken to them on any of my credit reports.
