That has happened to me too -- I just log in again. I think what happens is that if you are afk, or are reading the screen, but don't actually do anything for some specified period, it times you out for security purposes.
In retrospect, I believe the problem is caused by the evil empire "windows 98" some of ya should know about that fatal error crap.
