cease and desist for OC's

    I have found a ton of letters for collection agencys to cease and desist, but I have yet to find one for the actual Original Creditor. Can you ask the oc to stop contact or do they have the same rules and do they fall under FDCP standards.

    The FDCPA applies only to CAs not OCs. Some states have enacted laws holding the OC to the same standard. You would have to check your state laws.

    So they can call and harrass me at work?

    This is all very new to me. How do I check my state laws?
