Can anyone recommend any cell phone services or plans that a person with crappy credit can get without an Enerormous deposit? I have heard of some programs with pretty liberal criterea in the face of heated competition and are willing to take on more risk. Can anyone make any recommendation. I live in Tulsa also if anyone is acquainted with any OK services. thanks!
Is Sprint available. I had them right after my bk. I paid $125 deposit and had that as a spending limit. I never went that high so it worked out. My friend had pretty bad credit too. She paid no deposit and had a $200 spending limit. They removed the limits after 1 year of on time payments. I think it was very fair. I got voicestream-now t-mobile before I started my credit repair journey. My scores were probably in the low 500's at the time. They pulled TU. Kim
Sprint pulls Equifax. If you have bad credit or no credit, they 'usually' charge a $125 deposit. However, if you are late with your payments during the year of your contract and they turn your phone off for non-payment (even if its for 1 hour), they will NOT renew your contract when it expires.
I disagree. I just double-checked and Sprint pulled Experian for me. I am in MA. They did not require a downpayment from me, I have repos, judgements, 25 collections, all that good stuff and NO DEPOSIT. And I disagree with that statement about they will not renew your contract. When your credit is bad, your account is a bit different than a regular account. If your balance goes over $120 or you are 1 day or more late with your payment your phone gets shut of till you pay. Sprint tells you that you cannot go over your minutes or your phone will not work, but what it really is is they charge you and whn you hit $120 off goes the phone. If this happens during your contract your contract will be renewed, but you will stay with those condidtions on your plan. If you make all payments on time for the duration of your contract, you will get a regular account. Which to me makes no difference because with the account I have I am forced to pay my bill on time and I don't go over my minutes. By the way my credit score is a 411.gg
Hollypc is right. My friend that got her sprint account when I did has NEVER even once paid her account on time. She always went over her minutes and they have renewed her contract every year for 3 years. She is no longer on spending limit either. They beg her to stay every year when she threatens to cancel and give her a new phone to keep her. Her credit is far worse now than when she started. I never even noticed them do AR's on my credit. Also they pulled Experian for me in Washington. Kim
