Does anybody have any idea who will approve a family plan after a chapter 7 discharge? Would just like to use the phone for emergency's basically or a limited bases. Thanks
Can I just buy the phone from them and how are there plans, maybe I will look them up on the internet. Not plans but rates per minute? Like I said I will look them up...
I was approved by Verizon Wireless about two months post BK 7 discharge in 2003. I was able to do it all on-line which was best because my biggest concern was being turned down in a store and having to deal with people face to face. It was on-line, it was easy, and they mailed the phone to me. My scores at the time were in the low 500s
Was it a pre-paid? Did you have to have a contract? How long was it? Did you have to have a deposit? Thanks
The prepaid plans are a good alternative if you can't get a phone any other way, but the AIRTIME IS VERY EXPENSIVE when compared to a standard plan Maybe you could get a standard plan (not prepaid) if you agree to leave a deposit of $100 or $200? I believe Sprint had a deal like that some time ago. I don't know if they still offer it
No Deposit...but I had to sign a two year agreement which isn't that big of a deal because at the end of the two year agreement, they give you a $100.00 credit toward each phone to buy a new one. I've been very pleased with Verizon so far

Re: Cell phones after BK Chp7 Thanks I will see what kind of service they have here. I will try online too.
Re: Cell phones after BK Chp7 I got one with sprint...I filled out the online application, and then stopped before putting in my credit card information to purchase a phone. I then went to a store, as I had been pre-approved online. Got everything there...and then a week later, I got a letter in the mail saying I was denied, and could only get a pre-paid service....which was straaange since I had already gotten a phone. My monthly limit is $125, which is more than enough.
