Does anybody know how hard it is to get a revolving cell phone account as a student with limited credit history and zero CC balance and no non R/I0 loans lines on my credit reports - and how to go about getting approved. Due to personal circumtances I need, and also want, it as a sole phone. In addition, I've heard it was a good idea to have a number under your name for a decent score, am I correct?

Thanks for your time to read this and for any help!

Get an at&t phone, they just want your atm/visa debit # and they'll give you one billable monthly. I hear they report as well.

cell phones probably dont have much of an effect since your balance is always low (i hope!)

Thanks for the info, Sam. When I mentioned how a phone would affect your score, I was thinking about similar factors concerning the score such as length of time at your current job, residence...
