Hi all, Looking for experiences.....Declared BK 7, case should be closed in a couple of weeks. I am considering changing cell phones plans to save some money. Will I automatically be denied for a contract phone due to the BK? I'm sure my credit report is not in order yet. I didn't have to BK on my current cellphone contract if that matters. If you are just changing plans I don't see why they will run a credit check for that. But if you are changing a companies, they will run a check and most will want up to $500 in deposits. You can consider 2 companies depending on where you are located. 1st At&t has a pay as you go plan that will allow you to have a regular package but it will need to be linked to your debit card or a credit card. Next is Us Cellular they a plan called Fast Tracker starting at $35 a month for 500 minutes free night a weekend. Again it will need to be linked.
In Calif, they have Metro PCS. No credit Check! 35/mo unlimited calling. I have Cingular myself. They didnt even run Cr Check on mine. I think with the switch and you can keep your own number, the rule getting loosen-up. Thks!
