Are you referring to AMEX's black centurion card?If so you can't apply for this kind of card, they only offer it by invitation only.If you have to ask for an application they say you can't afford this card. This card has a $1000.00 annual fee. That should explain their philosiphy of you not able to afford this card product. This card is targeted at the wealthy ones. The best one that you can apply for would be AMEX's platinum optima with no annual fee,if you would apply for the platinum charge card it has a hefty $300.00 annual fee.
The Centurion Card is not necessarily for wealthy people.. AMEX targets those who spend certain amounts of money on travel related expenses.. Interesting note is that the top 4% of Platinum Card holders spend more than the Centurion card holders..
Amex Centurion is partnered with all travel related companies (i.e., air, hotel, etc.)..
