I sent my demand letter to TU last week asking for the methods and names used to allegedly verify accounts. I sent it certified r/r. I got the green card back today. They received it on the 24th, but on the signature line it is stamped Trans Union, Chester Pa. I was curious if anybody else who has sent certified letters to TU actually got a signature.
I also sent the demand letter to the ca that placed a collection on my report without notifying me of the alleged debt. I haven't received that card back yet. I gave them 5 days from receipt of the letter to get the entry off my report or I will file complaints with the ftc and my state atty gen'l. in addition to a lawsuit. I have a feeling these creeps at the ca will refuse to sign for it. Oh well, I'll update as the news becomes available.

Why would they REFUSE to sign for it?

    LKH,

Good for you!! Being aggressive will only help your situation.

On another matter, I got 2 E-mails from Credit expert today regardiing disputes.

On 1 dispute, a misspelled name was deleted in 1 day. Fast.

On the other - well...I asked for an older paid account listed as "closed at request of grantor" be changed to "closed at request of consumer". Creditexpert TU'd me. They deleted the account. it was only supposed to remain on the report until 2004. My score appears to be the same.

But why can't EX follow directions either???

None of the bureaus understand English. They hire inept idiots who can't read. I'll be very interested to see if anyone at Trans Union can understand the letter I sent them.

    LKH-

Read your post about no signature. I had a situation where I was disputing an inquiry with first premier-got my green card back. Someone had clearly signed for it-and then taken a black magic marker and crossed it out!

Does the postal service not have a policy re: this?

That kind of defeats the whole purpose for having certified mail with R/R. Sounds like the CRAs need another class action lawsuit filed against them.

Well, I had a certified rr which came back with NO signature and NO date. Nothing. I went to my local post office to file a complaint. They pulled it up on the computer and printed out a signature and date from another slip (salmon colored, I'm told) that the recipient has to sign. It is then scanned into their computers. I would recommend going to your post office to see if you can get a copy of that scan.

THE RULES ARE...sign and accept the letter...or REFUSE TO SIGN, and give the letter back to the POSTMAN/WOMAN...

They will return to sender stating REFUSED TO SIGN...OR REFUSED DELIVERY.
