Is there any significance to being "2 years since your bankruptcy" in terms of getting new credit? Obviously 10 years is significant as the bankruptcy disappears. Put another way , do creditors and Fair Isaac view the 2 year mark as significant? If it is significant is the 2 years from date of filing or date of discharge?

Two years from discharge date is significant in being able to rent an apartment. Before two years many leasing agencies will deny you outright.

I don't know about creditors though. I don't think anything magical happens at two years, but if you have managed to get some credit after bk and maintained it well for a couple of years you should be on the right track.

2 years is the magic number to get a federally-insured (FHA, I think) mortgage.
