Just found this site and you've already answered a lot of my questions by reading past posts. Thank you all.
I have a situation that someone might be able to give me some advice on. I claimed chapter 13 bankruptcy in 93 and now, 7 years later, all of my information from the bankruptcy is off my credit reports except 1. JCPenney reported the last date of activity in 97.(the end of my payment plan when I paid my portion to JCPenney)
My question is will I have to wait until 7 years after the 97 activity for this to fall off my credit report? Bankruptcy should only be on my report for 7 years, but it'll be 11 years if I have to wait for 2004. I would like to buy a house and get a car with less than 20% interest here soon. Any ideas?

I know in Canada, if it is included in the bankruptcy, it MUST be erased, even if the companies reported something the day before it was to come off your record. I was told this by someone at the credit bureau.
