A few months back I disputed with EX a charge-off account. First time I checked the investigation status page it said, results due: 12/12/01, and the date I was checking it was like 12-28/01. Then a few days later, I check again, results due date now moved up by like 5 days , i.e. 12-17, I print that. So, I call them up, get a nasty rep on the phone, who says they still haven't verified and get this, they claims to still have time to verify, and 20 minutes after I hang up, I sign back online, and poof, the results due date has changed yet again!, and they magically verified the charge-off in 20 minutes. So... my question is, what can I do? I have the evidence that they've been playing around with the results due date, and I recorded my conversation with them if that helps.
sorry, I don't have any advice, but I called EQ the other day about some investigations and the rep on the phone said the start date was 5 days later than when I started the investigation. I just went to the website and the start and finish dates have not been changed (yet), so I printed the page in case they try to change them. I have 8 days to go until the 30 days expires, but I would appreciated it if you would update this thread if anything else happens.
This is one of the reasons for my lawsuit against Experian, along with other reasons. I had copies of everything printed out and my attorney said that is a definite violation and they can't deny it, based on the proof I have. I wouldn't let them get by with it, you can get some deletions and/or money out of them if you are willing to pursue a lawsuit.
Christi, I'm going to start calling around to different attorneys and see who will take the case on contingency. I didn't even know I had the proof against them until I started poking around last night in my pdf files. They changed the date 3 times accoding to what I saved. I wonder if I can consider that 3 violations.
yes, of course that's a violation. You can site each as a violation but in all they fall under willful or negligent noncompliance. regardless. get your ducks in a row. have actual damages, and talk with an atty
