i overpaid my account with disocver last month. i had a balance on my statement of 93.40 and sent in 93.42. for with they sent me a refund check of 2 cents. on this next months statetment it has all of that info plus a small balance write off of 62 cents. i can't figure out why that would be onthere if i overpaid last months bill. would this be because of two cycle billing. do you think they would put it on my credit report for such a low amount when i did not request it?
Look, read the terms of how your interest is calculated. Whether or not you requested an interest charge, or that a balance be reported is 100% immaterial to your creditors and to the credit reporting agencies they report to. Having a small balance on an account does NOT have a deleterious impact on your score or chances of a loan. However, having a LARGE balance as a percentage of available credit does.
maybe my question was misunderstood. i just wanted to know if you thought discover would report it as a charged off account. and if so how i could dispute that.
I OVER-PAID MY DISCOVERCARD ACCOUNT BY $0.02 ALSO...THEY DID A SMALL BALANCE WRITE-OFF... They did NOT ask me if I wanted to use the $0.02 credit or if I wanted a check...(EVEN THOUGH A JUDGE WOULD LAUGH YOU OUT OF COURT...IT IS STILL THEFT)...
Charged off account~~~NO, NEVER (they won't ever bill you...and you NO LONGER OWE IT). THE INTEREST ACCRUED DUE TO 2-CYCLE BILLING...
I don't think anyone has ever gotten a charge off on their credit report in the situation you describe. If you haven't been 90 days late, and you're dealing with a major credit card issuer, having a charge off occur is virtually unprecedented. Just pay at least the minimum or more and you'll never get a charge off.
