Below are the details from my EQ report: --------------------------------------------------- HOUSEHOLD BANK Account Number: XXXX Rate or Status: CHARGE-OFF Account Owner: Individual High Credit: $0 Type of Account : Revolving Terms or Monthly Payment: $0 Date Opened: 06/1995 Balance: $0 Date Reported: 05/2003 Past Due: $0 Date of Last Activity: 06/1998 Months Reviewed: N/A Comments: Charged Off Account Seven-Year Payment History 30 Days Past Due: 0 times 60 Days Past Due: 0 times 90 Days Past Due: 0 times ---------------------------------------------------- Here's what I have done so far: 1. Disputed online as not mine - came back verified 2. Sent two validation letters to OC, both ignored. After staring at my report, I was dumbfounded to notice from my report there are no dues, balances, nor payments. And no late payments. How could this be a charged off account? Can someone please advise on how I should approach the deletion process?
The big questions here are was this really your accout? Did it really get charged off? If this was not your account then go after household with both guns blazing... send them nasty letters and threaten to sue for reporting false information. Go after the CRA's and threaten to sue for not verifying properly. If this really was your account then you want to be a lot more careful, because if it really was charged off then it's probably not being reported correctly since as you state it's unlikely that it would have been charged off with a 0 balance and no lates. You don't want to annoy the OC so much that they decide to start reporting it correctly. If this is the case, then the nutcase might be your best bet. You could try a goodwill (if it's been paid off), or a pay for deletion (assuming you still owe money on the account) HTH, Brett
I've sent the NUTCASE letter as well, it was also ignored by OC. This account remains as a negative item on my report. I was hoping I could dispute this on other technicality, anymore suggestions?
