I moved during January 2003 and left a forwarding address; however, Texas Utilities Electric's (TXU) bill was never forwarded to my new address. I now have a $77.00 bill on two of my credit reports (Experian and Transunion). When I called TXU, they transferred me to a collection agency. When I called the collection agency to pay and questioned them about removing the derogatory item from my credit, they indicated that they didn't and that TXU would have to do it. Well, I called TXU back and they said that they would not delete the item, but rather, they would send me a letter stating that it would be updated to a paid charge off. I am in the process of buying a home and I do not want to deal with this (charge off or paid charge off). Could you provide me with some advise on how best to proceed?
FYI: The TXU listing is on my ex-hubby's as well. It was on all 3 bureaus. simple disputing got it off TU and EX but it remains on EQ to this day. If yours is like his, it is TXU listing it not the CA. In addition, my brother had the same problem. He had paid his. It was listed as paid chargeoff. He disputed it and TXU didn't bother responding. Hope this helps.
Let me know what you guys have done. I have this problem to. It appears this company is quick to try listing chargeoffs on your credit report for their accts. I have a disconnect in service, and still was living at the residence in which I had their utilities for when it got disconnected. After a month it was listed on my credit report. I paid this and it is now listed as paid. But I have one that is unpaid due to when I move new bill did not get forward to me. I really have not disputed any of these yet. But I plan on doing it soon, because I may be buying a house next year. So let me know what has worked for you in disputing this TXU stuff. I believe this is been listed by TXU.
No, I have not paid it yet. I called them to pay it on yesterday and they started giving me the runaround, so I began searching and found this site and wanted to see what you guys had to say before I made a move. I will take care of it today or Monday, and then dispute it. Those folks at TXU are f***ing crazy as heck.
1*Well, I called TXU back and they said that they would not delete the item, but rather, they would send me a letter stating that it would be updated to a paid charge off. 2*I am in the process of buying a home and I do not want to deal with this (charge off or paid charge off). Could you provide me with some advise on how best to proceed? redwards ==================== 1*So there going to screw your credit in exchange for payment. 2*Pay for deletion or no pay. ive got one of these, from TXU on all 3 reports..every time i'd dispute it, it would get verified like in a few days. now i cant dispute it (frivilous), it is inaccurate because it says it is a charge-off..when indeed I had to pay it (it says it was over 2k..they like took the entire year of service as the CL or some crap) they wont remove jack, even a PFB didnt help. man I hate those sonsabitches. my only negative TL left other than medical crap too.
