had a loan with a credit union that they said was charged off. I was never notified and the cu was accepting payments from me continuously. I got a call from collection co of america saying that the account had been sent to them. I called the cu to see why ihad not been notified and was told that they did not have to notify me and that i needed to deal with the collection agency now. Can you negotiate a amount and payment plan with a collection agency. the amount is 19,000 and isf you can do that how much does a payment have to be and can a length of time be negoiated. help!
