I have had a classic Chase card for 11 months and they still have not raised my limit. Do I have to call, and if I do will they do a hard inquiry? Any info would be appreciated.
I've had my acct for just over a year. They keep sending me BT checks, so I called them last week to see if I was eligible for an increase. The guy asked me to verify my address and info, then asked me to hold on for a minute. Next thing I know, I was declined for an increase because of 'too many balances on my accounts', they pulled Experian, and did I want their phone number so I can request a copy of my credit report. My limit is still at $4K. oh yeah, my son is not happy with me - I usually call him Pooh Bear, but now it's Poobybear. He's 13!!
Thanks for the info, I figured that they would do a credit check first. I'm glad that you like the nickname!!! - you will find yourself calling your son that in public one day, people do it to me all the time!
ASK FIRST...NO INQUIRY INCREASE... DISCOVERCARD $0 FIRST USA $5,000 no inquiry...but they did an inquiry one month later when I did a balance transfer...(HOW STUPID AND ILLOGICAL)...
