I just got Chase Platnium. I have not had a Chase card in many years. I applied because they pulled TU. They gae me an opening limit of 6K. Is this a decent line. Are they good about CL increases?

You might even get more of a CL. Call them up and tell them that you were planning on doing a BT to them, the your limit doesn't cover what you would like to transfer. They doubled my CL on the spot - granted, mine went from $2k to $4k, but it's worth a shot. If they ask - just tell them you'll call back later when you have all the transfer info, whether you intend to call back or not.

    Congrats on the card!

Chase isn't worth it. Be glad you rid yourself of them.

It was not an instant approval. It took about 7-10 days. Did not see or hear anything online. The only auto approval I remeber getting online was AMEX blue and AMEX Starwood.

Everyone seems to have some gripes about the various card issuers these days. Many here hate Cap1 however I get great Balance transfer offers from them that I use 1-2 times a year.

    Same goes for Fleet.

Generally speaking I charge a ton, pay on time and expect little the card issuers them cust service wise. The only company I wonder about is AMEX. Their cust service needs help...My thinking is that I need to add some credit in order to keep my scores high in regards to any ratios..

That is a great idea. I will give that a shot. Nothing to lose I guess.

I am fighting with Chase right now because they lowered my cl. The reason, they said I have a derogatory account. I don't. I called Experian to verify the information given to them. No negatives. EVERYONE was pretty much like tough luck. Fax us a copy of the report to the generic "reconsideration" department and they will look at it. I may take 30 days.

I even gave the idiots the okay to pull a report because I refuse to wait 30 days for their error. The manager was VERY rude. I made it clear that once they saw the mistake, that they were going to have to give me an increase LARGER than what the original limit was. They treated me like I was late every month, paid the minimum monthly, etc. When I pay the card off every other month.

After arguing with her, I was ticked off, so I said close the account, my business is obviously not valued. She said, the account is closed, AND HUNG UP IN MY FACE!!!

So, I called back and told them to reopen until I speak to corporate. She coded the account so that it can only be opened by the credit dept. Needless to say, I am fuming, but the more I think about it, I am really pissed because I feel like I am back with Providian.

I know this was long, I'm still upset!

My initial credit line with Chase was and still is $10,000. My intro zero percent for one year ends in February. The balance is almost paid off. Chase called and offered me zero percent on bt to December of 2004. I took them up on the offer and had some funds transferred to my checking but not more than I needed at this point in time. I pay online as soon as the statement is presented.

That is a great offer. I find that certain cards are very aggressive in making you more BT offers once you are paid off.

For me these cards seem to make the most offerings:

1- Fleet personal and business. Seems like I get checks almost every month. They are a little weird sometimes with the Balance CL. The Balance CL is usually lower than the regular credit line. Some of their offers have no BT fee 3% or otherwise.

2-Smith Barney Visa- I dont use this much but they are always sending me BT offers.

3-Citibank Gold AA card-This is a good mileage card for me. I do not carry any balances. But when I max out my points for the year I charge nothing and they offer me 1.9% deals.

4-Capital One. Seems like they offer me some of the best deals consistantly. Every time I am paid off more are in the mail to me.

5-ATT Universal. They are sending me offers now. The holiday season is when these guys step it up a bit..
