Last experience I had with chase, as follows.. Received checks in the mail from chase. The next week received second envelope with more checks. Thought well I should consolidate all my credit card debt to my chase because I have 2.9% for 6mo or something, which is better than most of my others. So I used a check from the first set to mail to the Citi (500.00) I get my billing statement and I am being billed for cash advance on the check even though it says Citi MasterCard on the statement for the transaction. I promptly called Chase CS and the lady politely advised me that the "first" checks are cash advance checks and the second set is "balance x-fer" checks. I admitted I didn't read the fine print but as a consumer hopefully she could understand my intention of transferring the balance to chase. I politely asked her to reverse the fee so I would be able to keep my balance with chase. She declined, so I called the citi and the first guy would not waive the 50.00 balance xfer fee, so I called back and before I could get the question out of my mouth the nice lady said sure we'll waive it!!..so I xferd 7000.00 to the acct, and all is good. Point of the story...chase would not waive 20.00 in fees to keep a balance of 7000.00 on the card.
