Anyone have this card ? Do you have to put all your rewards into the mutual fund or can you redeem it as cash whenever you want ? Thanks.
Steve, I have had a Chase card since the late 80s. It was a Gold card, and somehow they never took it away from me, even during my period of terrible credit. (Luckily, I really didn't abuse the payment schedule for Chase like I did just about everything else.) After successfully cleaning up my credit (gimme five! lol -- I'm still happy and grateful to the board), I requested and received an upgrade to their Platinum card. Then last week I noticed on cardratings.org that the Chase Stockback card had received some really terrific reviews from consumers. So, I called Chase and asked if I could switch over to the Chase Platinum Stockback Card, and they agreed to do that. The guy basically said that not every Chase Platinum cardholder was eligible to do that although some are and that for some reason my account was eligible. So I went for it. I haven't received the card yet, but I will let you know how it goes. By the way, Chase has a special website for the card at http://www.Stockback.com. Doc
Thanks for the link, Doc. Looks like a nice program. I may trade my Chase Platinum iCard for this card. I just have to wait to get my last reward.
Steve I have the Chase Stockback. It's a good card. you open up an account with Stockback - after receiving the card - and they give you options - mutual funds or cashback. I took the cash back. also 2.9% on purchases and bt (no trans fee) for the first 6 months.
If you choose the cashback option, can you redeem your reward at any time or only when you reach a minimum amount like $10 or only after the one year anniversary date (Discover) ?
Good guestion - I'm not sure actually/ I think you can redeem whenever you want - but - here's a number at Chase - they'll probably know: 1-800-838-9593
Interestingly, Chase also has a "CashBuilder" card. That one looks like a straight rebate card along the lines of Discover. The terms for that are (quoting): Chase CashBuilder Card â?¢ Earn up to 1% in cash rebates on new purchases when you pay your balance in full or choose to carry a balance of less than $500. â?¢ Earn up to 2% in cash rebates on new purchases any month you choose to carry a balance of $500 or more. â?¢ You'll automatically receive a check upon anniversary date for the entire amount in your reward plan every year, up to $500 per year. Note the "up to 1%" and "up to 2%" phrasing in the CashBuilder card description, which makes me wonder under what situations one would earn less. The Stockback card differs somewhat. Here are those terms: Chase Stockback Card â?¢ Earn a guaranteed 1% rebate on all purchases wherever MasterCard is accepted. â?¢ Earn up to 10% more when purchasing from selected online merchants including BN.com, eToys.com, Disney, and 80+ others (complete list). â?¢ Shop locally with the Stockback MasterCard at participating merchants, and get additional Stockback rewards. â?¢ There is no annual limit to the earned rebate. â?¢ There is no required monthly balance to carry. â?¢ The cash you receive will be placed in a Stockback Capital brokerage account, where you can keep it as cash or invest it in a mutual fund. You can request withdrawals at any time. I'd like to know which local merchants participate as well as what is meant by "additional Stockback rewards." Anyway, I'm anxious to receive my new Stockback card, although the CashBuilder card looks pretty good too. Doc
