They first denied me because of my TU report, Ok I would have denied me too. I had it cleared up with my settlement and faxed them a new clean copy. They pulled ANOTHER one WITHOUT my permission and said they still denied me based on "no credit report". I faxed another TU report. They decided today to pull an Experian WITHOUT my permission. They denied me. I talked to them at reconsideration, first I wast told I was denied for a charge-off. I asked what charge-off, I have none. She says "oh you have 11 inquiries so we had to deny you". I said I have -0- inquiries on TU. Then she says well we pulled Experian and you have 4 inquiries there. I said one is from you so technically I had 3 when you pulled it. She said well that's too many, so we had to deny you. They will NEVER get my business. I have 2 reports with perfect credit, one with -0- inquiries, one with 3 (until they pulled). Credit history goes back to '93 and they denied me for excessive inquiries!! Bank of America has my business and Chase can go to hell before I will EVER have a card issued by them.
I never saw any benefit to having a Chase card anyway. BOA has a better rate & customer service. Wait till all 3 are cleaned up and TU has found you again, then go for Citibank. My .02
Citibank pulls Equifax in Texas, but I just talked to the attorney and he thinks we will be ready to settle early next week. Chase sux
In my experience, my Chase has a lower apr than my Bank of america card. Now that Bank of america has cut back their customer service hours, I think there customer service is lacking versus Chase who still has 24 hour service. Although when I have used the customer service, both banks had provided adequate service.
Christi, Citibank and BofA pulled credit from Transunion and I live in South Texas. BofA increased my limit for both of my card and they have good customer service. They gave me 9.9% fixed for purchases for both of my card. I can transfer funds from my checking to make payments. Citibank has a good customer service and they deducted funds to make payments to all my Citibank cards. I didn't have any Chase card. I applied for their secured cards and they denied me because I have a couple of charge-off accounts in my TransUnion credit report. I heard a lot of terrible stories about Chase Credit card on the internet. So I didn't apply for any Chase Card and their cards doesn't fit what I need. Ron.
Christie, Depending on what type of card you want, look no further than your back door. The best credit card is USAA Federal Savings in Texas. They have outstanding customer service and would not jack up the % rates because they want to. Citibank has been know to do that to several. They pulled Equifax so wait for all your reports to be clean.
I guess it depends on the person. Chase is my best and their customer service has been really good. Now, I backdoored into Chase. I financed a car through them, two months later they sent me a preapproved Plat offer, with 2.9% intro rate, changing to 9.9% after one year. Best card for me at the moment. Highest credit line and lowest APR.
I ran into their Business Prevention Department also. Same deal as you. They pulled TransUnion on the wife and rejected for ONE paid collection account. Got it removed days later by phone (They tried the old reinsert trick). Talked to Chase said fax in an updated report to reconsideration and 10 days later nothing yet. Screw Chase. Since my CreditNet Journey began on the wife in November: Scores before Exp: 593 Equ: 601 Transunion: 560 Scores now Exp: 690 Equ: 629 Transunion: 655(yeah right) - BOA American Airlines $3500 14.9% - Citibank $2000 14.9 - Children's Place store card $200 - Mobil/Exxon Gas Card $200 -Just got Cap 1 Gold $300- whoopee, but thanks Mr Cooke -Kmart Cap 1 $50 Chase--Kiss my grits, do'nt need ya anymore.
I received the same bullsh*t treatment from Chase. They will NEVER get my business. I'll stick with AMEX, Citi, and MBNA. Chase sucks big time. To hell with them, I say! -chriscraft
I wouldn't get too emotional about it - scores are scores, numbers are numbers - you aren't a better or worse person. Chase offers some pretty good products - from the 5% rebate Shell MC and "regular" platinum cards with great 1.9%, 3.9%, BT offers. Remember - the goal of the game is to get the lowest rates with highest value of benefits... mj
