Approved with a CL of $6k and has one year of 0%BT, with a go to rate of 8.9%.

One year of no interest, best offer I have had.

Also comes with rewards, which I don't have now.

I applied for CITI platinum at the same time as CHase, but I am going to decline the card if I am accepted now. Chase is the better deal for me, CITI was only offering 6 months BT at 0% with NO rewards.

YOU ALREADY TOOK THE "HIT" (HARD) DON'T CLOSE IT (CITIBANK)!!!

Unless it is WAY OUTSIDE YOU INTEREST RANGE...like me "IF" I got a card @ 19.99% I WOULD RETURN IT AND TELL THEM TO STUFF IT!!!

    Congrats!

I would keep the Citi one if you get approved. One can always have a back-up, especially when the cc companies like Chase have these oddball risk managment models.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

CHASE "JACKED" me for a BOGUS 30 day late and denied a second account because of the same BOGUS 30 day late and then REFUSED TO GO BACK TO WHAT I HAD...SO I DUMPED THEM!!!

On the UP-SIDE...I do have in writing that they made a mistake...

Reminds me of the girl I went to HIGH SCHOOL with that was a STRAIGHT A student except one B+

THAT DEAL WENT TO THE SCHOOL BOARD!!!

I would hate to have even ONE 30 DAY LATE!!!

I would have to turn in my SUPERMAN cape...

No more new accounts for me......in about the last year I have opened up four new accounts (mortgage refi, car, BofA, NOW CHASE). My oldest account is only 6.8 years old.

I want to keep my FICO up because DH and I are looking into buying an investment property with a stated income loan and need to keep it as high as possible to qualify.

More than one new account-------->TOO RISKY with FICO in my situation.

The CITI is my only inq. with that CRA, ironically, I think it HELPED my score.

The CITIBANK card at this point (POST HARD) will do more GOOD than HARM...KEEP IT...you can buy a load of groceries or a tank of gas every 4-6 MONTHS and pay in full...(IF APPROVED)

0% for 12 MONTHS with rewards and NO fee to boot......CITI can't beat that offer.

I need a rewards card. I have wasted hundreds if not thousands with NOT having a rewards card.

I have a **good** feeling about Chase.

Also, I was thinking that when my 0% is up with CHASE next year, I can open a new account with CITI and transfer my balance to them and HOPEFULLY get another 0% for six months, like they usually offer with new accounts.

I like the idea of a strong possibility of getting 0% for 1.6 years.

AT THIS POINT...YOU MAY REGRET IT...

I had 2 cards with CITIBANK and closed both of them years ago...THEN I HAD THE HARDEST TIME GETTING ANY CITIBANK CARDS...(EVEN "ALREADY APPROVED" ONES) HAD TO DO BDD...

    Now I'm at $20,000+ 3.99%/4.90% "GO-TO" 6.99%

BUT THEN YOU DON'T HAVE UYGF

Don´t close Citi if you get approved. It would be a big mistake if you do!. Congratulations for your new Chase card!.

Congratulations on the Chase card. But I agree with most of the others. If you get approved for Citi, keep it. If you close it, your ratios change. One of the reasons Chase jacks rates is because of usage ratios. So keep it, keep it open for ratios if nothing else.

I'd take Citi in a minute over Chase.

Besides, you can get another Citi next year for the 0% if they don't offer you something on the current card.

Keep the Citi, when the year is up, call 'em and tell 'em you want to use the card for a BT and get the best offer you can. I'll bet if you have zero activity for a year and then want to do that, you'll get as good a deal as a new card and no application hit.

I have a Chase card at zero percent for one year, with the year ending in February, at which time the balance will be paid. Chase called me and offered another bt at zero percent until December 2004. As a result, I will have had two years of zero percent on a cl of $10,000 for use when December 2004 ends.

Im just curious as to why Chase would offer another year for free? The reason I ask is because I have the Chase Perfect card and bt'ed 8k. Chase only gave me 9 months 0% and it will end in 3 months. Will Chase offer me another year at 0%? What incentive do they have to offer a person another year at 0%?

I have this hunch that they thought they were going to lose me. I had made no purchases, despite zero percent on purchases. I was concentrating on the pay down of the bts at zero percent from the other cards. I made very large payments each month on the line made available to me at a time I really needed it. It was certainly cheaper than getting a loan, etc.

I had emailed them to see if they would extend the original 12 months an additional month, because of something that came up. They emailed me back that they could not extend the original number of months. Then the next day, I got this telephone call in which they stated they had reviewed my account, etc., etc., and made the offer. They also lowered the purchase rate during that call. Yes, this deal surprised me also.

I did not request the total amount available to be transferred on the new deal. I didn't want it to go over the 50% utilization again.

    CHASE

...AND they say "7.99% is the best we can give you MRS GEORGE"

...AND they TRASHED my business...THEY ADMITTED MANY ERRORS including but not limited to making a BOGUS 30 DAY LATE...

Citi is also very good with card CONVERSIONS to other reward programs (if that's what you're looking for). You might want to check out the Diamond Rewards cards and ask a CSR to convert your card to that one.
