All I did was call and ask them to on Monday...well today it has been done but no credit limit increase. The current limit is still $3300 but new plat. cards are being sent out to me.
how long did you have the card before requesting the "upgrade"? did they pull an AR or other INQ? and am I correct in assuming that your card was a Gold card to start with?
how much have you used the card? and what were your original scores? thanks for the info, I ask because I got my Chase classic in Dec 02 and would like to see what it takes to upgrade before I give them a call.
I did a balance transfer which ate up much of my CL, but my original score was about 735ish. It can;t hurt you to call, they do not do a hard inquiry,,,at least that is what they told me an nothing has appeared yet on my bureaus.
They do not pull a hard inquiry for a conversion to another Chase card product. At least they didn't for me. Regarding a CL increase, if it's not offered by them, request one making sure that the CSR is aware that you do not want a hard inquiry to result from the process. Chase is one institution that has two levels of limit increase...one that's made available by their internal analysis of your history with them, and another that involves a hard inquiry if you want an increase beyond the amount offered. Other cards require hard pulls...period.
My brother just received a Chase universal PLATINUM MC with only 3k limit. So that´s usual on these days.
