Today I pulled my TU report to find that Chase USA has inexplicably pulled my credit report. I have no accounts with them, nor have I applied for credit or employment. So I plan to due the $1,000 letter routine. Any tips? I've got the sample letter but who do I send it to? (CSR, legal dept?) Thanks!
Here a little link about my story with Chase...I'm not trying to extinguish your hopes, but they aren't the easiest to deal with...hopefully you'll have better luck than I am: http://creditforum.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=527
MRYAD, you filed suit right? How did it end up? Is your wife's name Elizabeth? Is the acct really yours? Yikes, it's like a soap opera! I hate chase too :0)
Grrrrr, I spoke with Chase today and they were actually quite cordial and claimed to have received an application from me. Of course I didnt apply so I was quite concerned and not to sure what to do next... And then on the off chance, I asked my wife..."hey you didnt by any chance apply for credit in my name....." "well, no, well except for an online application at chase...I was trying to do you a favor" GRRRRR...long talk ensued afterwards... Thanks for the info anyway though.
I haven't done anything yet. I keep getting ready to do it, and then something comes up. I haven't even responded to their last letter yet....not sure if I should. My ex-wife's name is Elizabeth. I haven't got the foggiest idea what account it is, the only thing I can think of is they bought the account from another company. But they've never said anything about it or shown any proof of it. I just can't believe it's been going on for over a year now.
