Chase is prime lender. Only good things about Chase. If you are unhappy for any reason I would recommend you to call following number: 1-800-345-8089. It's their special department in Tampa,FL. You can get lower interest rate on any card: Cllasic,Gold or Platinum. Their best rate is 7.9% fixed without annual fee or if you want variable rate it's Prime Rate + 0% but you have to pay $45 annual fee.
I have (among others) a Chase Gold Visa with an $11,500 credit limit. Nothing but good things to report. Was originally $10,000 CL, but I got an auto increase after about 6 months without an inquriy to the CRA(s), and without asking. I actually had an EFT payment (online bill pay) go in to them late -- and I'm pretty sure that *I* scheduled it for the wrong day. They banged me for a $29 late fee. I emailed them. Said "I pay EFT, on time, never late (check my history). Please remove the late fee and do not report anything to the CRA's. Otherwise, I'll transfer my balance to one of my other platinum cards that is currently offering 0% until mid 2003." Got an email back a day later. "We've removed the late fee and nothing would have been reported anyways -- it must be 30 days late past your due date before we'd report it anyways. Is there anything else we can help you with?" Love that Chase.
Started with $2000 cr limit 1.5 years ago. Now is a 7000 platinum card. They mail balance transfers offers everytime, last one was 0% until Ago 2003. Great Bank, Cust serv is very good. No problems ever.
marci, I am not sure about it. When I called they introduced themself as special department. They handle all customer complaints and they are able to give you better terms right away.
I love Chase. Customer service has been great and I have had no major problems with my account. Started with a regular Platinum card and traded it earlier this year for the Shell Platinum. The rewards on that card are great. They like to offer balance transfer deals a lot. The rates are good. Unfortunately, since this is a rewards card, I don't think I will be transferring anything to it. This is my everyday purchase card. BTW, does anyone have a really low rate on the Chase Shell card? Since it is a rewards card, I wasn't sure how low they would go. Info would be appreciated.
THEN THERE IS THE "GEORGE FACTOR"... One year old $6,500 STUCK Two years old $5,000 STUCK They REFUSE to combine...refuse to increase...SO I CLOSED THE $6,500 (other card has better deals)
Platinum, thanks!!!!! I called this number today and they lowered me from 14.74 variable to 7.99% fixed!!! Yay! Move over, Capital One! Chase just went from being my second highest fixed rated card to my lowest fixed rate card! I have never revolved a balance on this card and use it (in cycle) maybe every third month. Current BT offer, though, is only 3.9% through next May. No 0% for me. This board is unbelievable!
I have had Chase Gold MC, since 9/2000....CL when opened was $5,000...Last Month they sent the BT checks No Fee and if used and over orginal CL will increase CL to a total of $7,500.....and BT amount is over $5000 APR will be 0%.......balance now is $7,100 at 0% till june 2003........Just called and recieved 7.99% fixed rate.....no HARD INQ....thanks to all...this is now by far lowest APR i have..... I agree. Ever since I got Chase, my experience with them has been exceptional in every way. They've become my favorite lender. Saar
I DON'T GET IT!!! He said maybe because of the 0.00% BT till 08/2003 He also said NO LIMIT INCREASE AFTER 2 YEARS IS NOT STRANGE...OK what ever you say...
Nope, that's not it, I also use the 0% till 8/2003. At first they said there's nothing lower available. So I asked, can I switch to a FIXED APR. She said, yep - you can get a fixed 7.99% APR. Saar
I have the Chase Gold MC....If i asked to Upgrade to Platinum, would there be better benefits? Last time i asked they wanted to do a HARD INQ..so i hung up....anyway around a Hard INQ?...... thanks and i do believe CHASE is an excellent card... Tony V. san diego, ca
