I believe the 7.99% fixed APR is a new policy. I spoke to a very reliable Chase insider a few months ago, who confirmed at the time that the lowest unsolicited fixed rate is 9.99%. Saar
Re: Re: Chase Has anyone had any luck getting an EXTRA inq from chase off their report? Apparently they felt the need to pull an extra inq after I was approved...still approved, but go figure! Also....if I asked for a higher initial cl would they pull another one???
Hello There, Thank You all once again yesterday was a sad day but today is a better day I just called and spoke to a nice rep at the 800-345-8089 number and I told her that my go to rate is kind of high I got the i card mc with them and the go to rate is like 13.74% after the middle of this month she offer me a go to rate of 10.99% instead I said okay Thank You and she told me that since my account is still new do call back like in Jun cause they are coming out with new and better rates soon so I will call them back in Jun and see... Thank You again.... CHASE is the best! Thx, Kev
Re: Re: Re: Chase Yes 6.99 is the best one now. But when I posted their special dept. number 1-800-345-8089 back in July 2002, the best rate was 7.99.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Chase Yes mine is 6.99 now. I even had 4.25 with annual fee but when I got 0% BT for 12 months their system changed it to 6.99. I called for explanation and they told me I can't have both 4.25 regular APR for purchases and 0% BT for 12 months. So I decided to accept 6.99 regular rate with no fee and 0% BT for 12 months.
Re: Re: Re: Chase So do I just call the special number after my intro to ask for it to be lowered? Is that 6.99 fixed?
REally? You've had luck with that? I am thinking they'll say....uh, ma'am, you haven't even gotten the card and used it yet...and what about this 0% (to which I;ll say...I can't purchase anything on the rate you have now!!) What works for you plat??
Re: Re: Chase Last summer my wife applied for Platinum and was approved for Classic with $3000 CL. She called immeditely upon receving the card and told them to close it because of insulting credit line. I think her intro was 2.99 for 6 months and 12.24 ongoing. They offered her to reduce ongoing rate immediately but they refused to upgrade it to Platinum and higher CL. The special dept. lowered ongoing rate on the spot but she closed it anyway before activation. Two months ago she called to see if they can re-open the account and they did. They went even further and they upgraded the account to Platinum. She kept the same low rate of Prime + 1.99 since the day she closed the account. The CL is still $3000 and I believe it has to be 6 or more months of usage to ask for an increase. Amy, you may give them call and find out right now if they can lower your ongoing rate even before the intro rate expire. They did it for my wife but as I said she closed it anyway.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Chase I happened to call two months before my intro was supposed to end. She warned that I'd lose one month of 0% since the rate goes into effect about a month after they give it to me. I figured that the 6.99% might not last, so I risked it, and got rid of the 0% (I only lost one month). Yes, the 6.99 is my fixed rate.
Chase is not the best. Chase is not an excellent bank. They cheated me on a balance transfer. They repriced me based on old derogatory items. Their security department is fanatical and intrusive. One of their representatives was ignorant, incompetent, and rude.
