Had a $3,500 CL w/Stockback from Chase, called the 1-800# primarily for a lower APR (currently like 13.74V). Wasn't able to get a lower APR and keep the Stockback card (she said 13.74 is the lowest they give for a Stockback?? anyone have any conflicting stories about this one) but was able to get a $1,000 CL increase without a pull or any info about income, employment, etc. Oh well, I'll try again in a few more months (only had this card since like 7/02, always paid off in full)

I think Chase sucks, have had a card for over 2 years and they refuse to give CL increase or lower rate.

Chase has been good to me but I have found they seemed to be the most amicable when I funnel allot of charges thru and carry a balance for a few months and then pay off or leave like $500 revolving
I currently have 5.99% on purchases and BT from "R"
It seems that they may have some profit pricing when determining rates.
The large banks want your business and if you can fit their model of what a profitable customer is youâ??re golden, but trying to figure that out is another story.

I have the Chase Universal Plat. Open with a $4K CL and 0% on BTs for 9 months. Had a subpar 15.99% on purchases, but called the R # I found on this site and asked for a better rate. They gave me 9.9% fixed. Not excellent, but I just got the card. I figure after 6 months, I will call and ask again for better terms.

I have the Chase Stockback card as well. I have been a Chase customer for almost 3 years. I recently called retention for a lower rate on the card. I received an APR of 9.9% and my requested increase of $3,000. The specialist stated that was the lowest he could go for the reward cards (not sure I believe that). But at any rate, it is still a good APR for a reward card. If I converted to the regular platinum, he stated he could give me a 6.9% APR. I will continue to try for a lower rate.

I agree that Chase likes customers that use the card a lot as well as carry a balance.

That's interesting. I've got the Universal rewards card. Kind of applied for the Hulk card w/o really needing the rewards it provides. I may see if I can check into another card.
